    Really fascinating to me, how Ben highlighted that something like Soy Sauce seems to be missing from the Cuko sauce. Traditionally, one of the main ingredients in Cuko sauce is dried shrimps. When cooked with the sauce, it will release a unique umami and savoury flavour to the sauce. Ben’s line of thinking was really shocking to me, for perhaps he sensed that the thing missing from this sauce is something umami, which will harmonize the flavours of the ingredients within the sauce.

    You can only talk about Conch if you pronounce it properly! (Hard k at the end) But yeah look at Bahamian cuisine 🇧🇸 We have a gazillion ways to prepare conch but now we live here we can do it with squid. Also Bahamian mac and cheese is the best version in the world. Also, in terms of a shipwreck, my grandfather genuinely lived in a cave for a bit with his family cos his dad wanted to be the Swiss family Robinson, hunting boar with bow and arrow, spear fishing...

    I think a lot of the comments are pro 1 form vs the other, add in the air fryer and toaster oven comments too. However I believe that the biggest learning point of the video is to use the correct tool or combination of tools for saving money, convenience and the overall texture of the food. For example, my go to for baked potatoes is to microwave them in my 900w microwave for 7 mins then bung them in my air fryer on 200c for 4-5mins - get the best of both worlds, its much quicker than an oven, the inside is steamy and fluffy but the outside has the crispy texture of an oven baked potato. Same timing as their microwave potatoe too. Can do the same with the Brussels too. I live by myself so generally I'm going to be cooking for one. However I don't have time to cook everyday so I often batch cook using the stove and the oven. When i do, im making multiple dishes (don't like eating the same thing every day) so I utilise ALL of the space that I can. Then portion it up and put it in the freezer for an easy diiner. Even then i often do a combination of microwave/air fryer if i want a crispy top etc

    I've said it before, but the itaki pro bento, i use it for work. it isn't smart, meaning it doesn't use an app, but it does a very good job of cooking a meal.

    The hob kettle is the same as an electric kettle... The others are just mad they didn't think about it first... :-D If we get picky, the regular oven function of the microwave is is not really microwaving. Still really creative and fun to watch!

    Yeah I think the point of seasoning on top is so the meat isn't overworked and becomes chewy but the simple solution to that is bind your burger ingredients until theyre just about to come together, then season

    48:34 Someone tell Will that James Martin is just wrong. Set your temperature to somewhere between 130F/54C and 140F/60C. Seal your bag and drop the meat in the bath for at least an hour. Take the pork out and give it a nice sear and enjoy that pork.

    The kegerators in the US are roughly the size of a European fridge. I didn't know kegs even came small enough to fit that little machine. In fact there's kind of a novelty Heineken party pack thing that's shaped like a US keg that's about the right size for that machine but it's a dispenser itself and doesn't need draft tap

    15:00 of very interesting, I'm Swedish and if you where to arrive at our parties being there at 7.30 we would see you as being late. Everything less than 10min before the time given and you would be late. And coming 10 min late we would most likely be cross with you all evening, it's very very rude being late here.
